Love My Kiddos!!

My children have been at my mom's and Brian's parents' house since Wednesday.  They called us last night to tell us about their new bikes Pop and JoJo had bought them.  They were sooo excited.  I missed them terribly after I heard their sweet voices and laughter.  Today Brian's dad called and said they were ready to come home.  I couldn't believe it.  I was so glad to get them home.  It's okay for a little while, but then you really start missing them.  We have just put them down and tucked them in.  I thank God for our children- and how God made them each unique and special.  Wow, what an awesome God!!

We are anxiously awaiting tomorrow after church, as we will start our trek to Disney.  I think I am more excited than anyone.  This will be our first "family" vacation by ourselves.  We have always had other family members with us, so this is definitely meaningful for us.   I have been reflecting a lot on the phrase, "hold loosely to all things that are not eternal."  I have prayed that God will use us on this trip- that we would share Him with those who may not know of His love.  Yes, I want to ride things, and get involved in the magic of this great place, but not lose focus of how God may can use us there.  Hopefully we will sleep tonight.  I might have to take some Benadryl because I'm really hyped!!  I'll tell Mickey hello for you all!!

Bye-Bye Preschool :(

This was Mari Morgan's last day of pre-school.  They had a pizza party, and a bike and water day.  She loved the water slide.  So hard to believe she will head to Kindergarten in the fall.  Thanks to Mrs. Cydnie for a great year!  She will miss you and all of her friends.  We will have to get together with them over the summer.

Bye-Bye Second Grade :(

Nathan had Awards Day and Field Day today.  The day started with a very emotional awards ceremony.  Mrs. Wood, Nathan's teacher, and Mrs. Stephanie, her assistant, looped with this class last year.  So, they have had these kids for 2 years, and I must say, have become very attached.   Mrs. Wood gave each student an individual award, from most creative, to funniest, to most organized.  We knew Nathan would not even be in the running for that one, bless his heart.  She cried with each one given.  As you will see in the pics to follow, their eyes are very swollen and red.  After the awards, we headed out to the soccer fields to have Field Day.  They played old games like, egg toss, sack race, and three legged race.  It was a lot of fun.  I cannot begin to tell you how much Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Stephanie have meant to Nathan and our family.  We will never forget his second grade year.  He has grown academically and socially.  Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Stephanie have been the reason.  You can tell a HUGE difference when teachers love their job and love their students!  Thank you Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Stephanie for an incredible, unforgettable year!  We love you!

Ole Miss and Mississippi State were playing baseball.  We have to go through Oxford on our way home, so we stopped and watched until it was rained out at the end of the fifth inning.  State was winning, and from what I hear, they won the game later in the evening.  Go Dogs!!!  It was fun.

Nathan took this picture-- good job!

Visit to Tupelo

Christine Fields and I went to Tupelo to visit a friend in the hospital.  After the visit, we went to the mall and ate lunch and let the kids play.  They have a carousel and playground in the food court.  The kids had a lot of fun!!   Mari Morgan had a lot of fun with David.  On the way home, she said about three times, I wish David was still here.  I enjoyed visiting with Christine.  Praying for our friend, Ambere, whom we visited!!

Little bit of nothing!

Not anything really interesting going on with the Tillman's at the moment.  Nathan takes his last 9 weeks test of second grade in Math tomorrow.  This has really hit me hard.  My firstborn will be in third grade next year!!!!!  Where does time go???  My baby will go to Kindergarten in the fall.  I've got to find a job, or I will go crazy!  I plan to really soak up time with my kids this summer.

Update on walking...
I walked Tuesday for 13 minutes, .7 miles!  I'm making progress, though very slow.  I know I can do it!!  I only have two and a half more weeks to reach my goal of one mile.  I'm supposed to walk with a friend tomorrow, which will make it much easier.

Today I visited the dentist for a regular check-up/cleaning.  I have to get an upper tooth extracted, a bridge, and three crowns.  Wow!!  No cavities. however.  The nurse told me that  for someone with good hygiene, I sure have the worst luck.  I must say I have to agree.

Wow!  It has been a while since I have written on this.  I just got finished walking on my treadmill.  Each of my of doctors have highly encouraged me to exercise to help bring full strength back to my body from my wreck.  Isn't it funny that ten years later, this can help? Because I have not been doing it, this is going to be even harder.  I looked it up on the Internet, and as of Wednesday, have officially started an exercise program.  My plan suggest every other night for @20 minutes. Of course, I will have to work up to that.  I'm not kidding you, after 5 minutes I feel like I am having a heart attack- sweating, chest pains, and all.  But tonight, I am so excited that I walked for 12 min. 34 sec.  My chest hurt, but I pushed it,  jammin to Chris Tomlin.  My goal is to walk one mile by the time we leave for Disney world in 3 1/2 weeks.  Brian has a goal too, so we are encouraging one another.  So far,  I've walked .6 miles(started at .4) so I'm making progress.   I know this is comical for some of you, but it is a big deal for me.  I'll keep you posted.  Wish me luck!!!!
