More renovations

Brian decided that he wants to try having a T.V./family room upstairs. We moved the television upstairs, and I must say it has been very different. I am lovin' it, since I am not a big T.V. person anyway. There is also a big hole above my mantle that I have to fill with something. The upstairs has to be cleaned up and organized. I'll keep you posted on how this project is going! I better get to work!

This is what I have to organize. Wish me luck.

As you can see, it is not bothering Nathan

New blog title

I have decided to change our blog title to Sufficient Grace, because that seems to be one way to sum up our adventures in this life. Only by the grace of God can we overcome. Amen?

Just wondering...

As I mentioned in the last post, this has been a strange 2 weeks for our family. Eleven years ago, shortly after I got out of the hospital from my wreck, it had snowed about 10 inches in North Carolina. We were in seminary housing, and wanted to walk over to our friends' house about a mile away. We bundled up and headed out. We got there and had a great time with hot chocolate and sweet fellowship. On our way home, I fell out in the snow. Try to call an ambulance with 10 inches of snow on the ground. :) Ha! They finally got there and I stayed overnight in the hospital. All the tests looked normal, although I knew it was not normal what had happened. About 2 years later, the same thing happened again in our home in Hernando. Two years later, it happened again driving home from a dentist appointment in Memphis. This same spell happened two weeks ago at church, and then again the day after Christmas. The doctor has now referred me to a neurologist for a brain scan. So, now I get to wait! Although I feel faintish quite a bit, these five times feel different. My head feels numb and tingly, like it weighs 5 tons. I fall to the ground, and then start vomiting. I can't sit up, and my arms and legs have no strength. Why does this happen? The Lord has really been showing me a lot these last couple of days. Spiritual warfare? Satan has definitely used my health in the past to disrupt our family. Our church is growing and moving in positive directions....? To teach me to rely more on God? I tend to forget that God took me from the depths of Sheol to have physical life again...? Whatever the reason, God showed me these verses this morning:

2 Corinthians 4:16
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

It seems that my lack of health, so to speak, always brings me back to Jesus. Before I even read this passage of scripture this morning, Brian quoted this verse to me before we got out of bed, "But, we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." That happens to be 2 Corinthians 4:7, which is part of the passage God let me to this morning. Awesome, huh?

God has always taken care of me. What makes me think he will stop now? These verses remind me that I must trust him with every breath, enjoying sweet fellowship with him along the way--abiding in him--getting back to what really matters in life--HIM!

...In sickness and in health

Wow! What a roller coaster we have been on during this Christmas break. Two Sundays ago I passed out at church. Friends gathered around to help out, and my husband wanted to not preach the second service to take care of me. I insisted that he go preach. The day after Christmas I passed out again at Brian's parents' house. Once again, he rushed to my side, cleaning up my throw up, and waiting on me hand and foot. You might say, that is what a husband is supposed to do. Well, I agree; however, this has been our lifestyle off and on for about 12 years now. This post is dedicated to my husband, who has served me by choice through many trying times in my life. Brian, I cannot imagine where I would be without you in my life. You are a wonderful husband and father. Thank you. I love you.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her...

Happy Anniversary!

Tomorrow, I will be married to my sweetheart for 13 years. Tonight, we went to Texas de Brazil and ate dinner to celebrate. It was so yummy! There salad bar is the BEST! I am not a big meat person, especially when they bring meat that is still mooing to your table. :) But, some of it I could handle. I love you Brian, and you will always have my heart.

My card was turned to red most of the time. :)

So neat!! (Wow, these things have really come a long way!:)
LOVE THEM!!!

Time to relax? Yeh, Right!

Friday was our last day of school for two weeks. The kids and I are so happy!! Last night, I was folding clothes and looking forward to sleeping in and staying around the house to get things done. Brian informed me that Nathan had his first basketball game Saturday morning at 9:00. I did sleep until 7:00, which is sleeping in these days. I took a few pictures a his game, but they accidentally got deleted. His team lost 10-5, but he played really good! Pop and JoJo came and took the kids to Southaven. Brian and I grabbed some lunch at Zaxby's. It's always nice to have lunch out alone with the hubs--don't get to do that often. After that, it was laundry! I have never been excited about doing laundry before, but I was today. Our washer died on us last weekend, and our dryer has been on its last leg for quite a while. Pop and JoJo decided that is what they would get us for Christmas. A new washer and dryer! Thanks guys!! I LOVE doing laundry now, but I'm sure that will pass! :) :) :)

I hate doing it this way!!

I title this post "I hate Doing it This way", because I do not like posting this way!! This is a quick look at our life over the past few weeks! I just cannot find time to post on a regular basis. Maybe I will do better next year! :)

My dad's side of the family had their family Thanksgiving/Christmas get together on December 4th. I did not take any pictures, but Mom took these pics below. My aunt just recently redecorated her kitchen. She has had the same pictures up over her table since I was in Elementary school. I rejoiced when I saw they were no longer there. After we finished dinner, she brought this big wrapped box to me for Christmas. I opened it to find this... ha! Good one, Aunt Jane! These will take a trip to Goodwill!

Here are the infamous "duck" pics
And yes, that is Ty Brown beside me!! :)

Mari Morgan had her school Christmas program on December 10. I took off from work to attend, and was so glad I did. It was super cute!

Mari Morgan was the greeter at the door when you came into the cafeteria.

Brian, Me, and MM, the cutest greeter I've ever seen.:)

Brian ran in the LeBonheur half marathon on December 4th. He finished in 2 hours and 34 minutes. He did awesome! We did not make it to see him cross the finish line, because he finished a lot faster than even he expected. We went to Auto Zone park, which is where he finished and and gave him a huge hug. The kids were so excited! Way to go sweetheart! Nathan and I have decided we are going to try to run the 5K next year. We are so
proud of you, Brian!

I am going to try to do better with my posting!! Until next time..... :)
