Nathan's B Day

We celebrated Nathan's eighth birthday today.  I took chocolate cupcakes to Nathan's school for lunch and then checked him out.  He was so excited!!!  At 4:00 Nathan had a few friends come over to have cake and open presents.  He got some awesome gifts!!!  Then, we loaded up and headed to the Aquatic Center in Tunica to swim.  The kids had such a good time.  Brian even showed his flipping skills off the board.  The high dive was the highlight of the trip, but only a few were brave enough to try.

Meet our newest member of the family- Scratchy!  This is the only thing Nathan wanted for his birthday.  Scratchy is a baby leopard gecko.  Nathan named him this because he said he was scratching in his box the whole way home.

So ugly, he's cute!

Nathan's birthday table- chocolate cake and Hershey bars.  He gets it honest!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our precious Nathan!!!

Well, one birthday down and one to go!!  Mari Morgan just turned five.  Nathan turns 8 on Friday.  Where has the time gone?  We still do not have Nathan's gift.  He has not told us anything that he wants.  He wrote a journal entry in his second grade class.  I'm assuming that they were supposed to write 3 or 4 wishes.  Nathan's first wish was for a lizard.  His second wish was to have a twin brother.  His third wish was that the world would be a better place.  His fourth wish confused me a little.  He wished for a better life.  It bothered me at first, but then I thought about how clueless Nathan is sometimes.  Then I thought, what is life to our kids?  What is life to me?  Am I showing them the "abundant life" that only God can give?  Anyway.........

Brian and I are contemplating on surprising him with a lizard on his b-day.  This is the same kid that asked for an oscillating fan for Christmas when he was 3.  Weird, but boy do I love him!!!   His party is set for Friday.  Party pics will come soon.  As for now, we discuss pros and cons to having ANOTHER pet lizard.  All cons in my book, but Nathan loves them!!!  Will he get a lizard?  Only time or maybe Petco will tell.

MM birthday at mom's

We had Edie and Mari Morgan a party together at Mom's.  It was really Edie's birthday on the 20th.  They are 4 days apart.   Both of my brothers and their families joined us.  It was a lot of fun.

Mari Morgan had her 5 year old birthday party today.  The theme was American Girl, since she loves American Girl dolls.  All the girls arrived in their pretty dresses and we had a tea party.  We ate and drank out of real china plates and cups borrowed from Brian's grandmother- Gram.  They were perfect for the occasion!  They were white with pastel flowers, ladybugs, and butterflies on them.  We had heart-shaped sandwiches, fruit kabobs. and popcorn for lunch.  My friend, MaryBeth, made beautiful flower cupcakes.  It was perfect for our princess!!!  The girls were quiet as mice while they ate, like proper little ladies.  Then, I had different American Girl dolls and let each girl choose one to dress.  They changed their clothes, fixed their hair, put bows in their hair, and played with them.  I also set up American Doll beds, and other furniture.  There was a coloring station, where the girls colored an AG doll picture.  I really think the girls had a good time.  I know MM did.  Then, we opened gifts.  She got so many great gifts.  Thank you all for a wonderful birthday party!!!!!
