Nathan's first goal of the season

On Saturdays Nathan is playing basketball in the hernando city league. They have not one a game yet, but Nate was excited to get his first bucket today. I was so happy for him, as you will hear. Ha! Way to go, Nathan! He is #11 under the goal.

MM is finally Star Student!

Mari Morgan has been waiting all year for her turn as Star Student. This past week was her turn. We decorated her poster on Monday night. On Friday, JoJo(Brian's mom) came and read to the class. She also brought cupcakes and Airheads for the class(Mari Morgan's request). She was very excited. I am so glad that she is doing so well, and that she enjoys learning!

Poster read: Favorite Color:lime green; What I like to do: draw; What I do well: dance; My favorite book: the Bible; A person I admire: God; My favorite food: mac and cheese; Where would I want to go: over the rainbow
Pictures she wanted to include: her family, Edie, her first cousin, her brother, Karis, her painting, she and little Mermaid from Disney, and a horse, her favorite animal.

She and her just like you doll dressed alike on Friday.

Taking control of the poster, ha!

She was so proud of it!

EEG- the first test!

Well, I survived staying up all night. I played on FB a lot, read Hebrews, watched t.v., and dozed a tad. This morning I was ok, but it hit me while I was lying down during the test. I ended up falling asleep for part of the test, which he said was what I needed to do anyway. I was glad to hear that! I slept from 2:00- 4:00 this afternoon, and am about to go to bed in a little bit. Next Thursday, I will have an MRI done, and my doctor will discuss both this test and my EEG results on that day. Praying I will get some answers and that treatment will be minimal. I have wonderful friends and family who have been praying for me. And of course, my mom, who never fails to come when I need her most. She stayed up with me some last night. Thanks, Mom. I love you! We just learned that we will not have school tomorrow, because of the snow. Just maybe God knew I needed another day of rest! :)

Long night!

It is 12:05 on Thursday morning. The doctor asked me to stay up all night so that I can be sleep deprived for my EEG at 9:30. I came in from school already tired, but so far I have only dozed off for about 5 minutes. I have had a piece of cake, and 2 bowls of Trix cereal, hearing the clock ticking behind me. I pray that I can get some answers soon. If it is not seizures, which is what will show on an EEG, that answers may come after my MRI next week. My God is with me, and He never fails!

Newest Family Member and a Fancy Day

I told Nathan if he would make all A's on his report card, I would let him get anything he wanted as long as it was not out of our budget. The first semester he missed it by 1 point. I knew that he would ask for a lizard. He did, but he did not have all A's. Well, this semester played out a little differently. I knew by his grades he was going to be close. Not only did he have all A's, but most were very high A's. Of course, he asked for a lizard and I couldn't break my promise. Nathan has always LOVED lizards. The only reason he enjoys going to Florida to the beach is because it is covered with lizards, and he can catch them like you would not believe. He is so proud of this one, because we have never had one quite this big. His name is Spike, and it was the one
he fell in love with at Petco. I don't understand it, but Spike sure makes him smile!

Meet Spike

Mari Morgan had Fancy Nancy Day at her school. We have just recently taken all of her dress-up clothes to Goodwill because she never played with them. We had to really search for something for her to wear. We had so much fun finding fancy jewelry, clothes, and scarves. I think she turned out pretty cute.
You can't really see all her jewelry and her scarf very well. We were in a hurry, and practically running out the door when this picture was taken.

Fun! Fun!

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful... oh, sorry. I love that song.:) Well, the snow has begun. We will not have school tomorrow, so its time for me to make some plans to spend my time at home wisely! I hope to play with the children in the snow, make snow ice cream, play a lot of board games, drink a lot of hot chocolate, and clean out our bedroom closet. No telling what I might find in there. Tonight, MM and Daddy started their own fun while I was grading papers. Nate is playing the Wii, and I am finished with school work for tonight, and looking forward to staying in bed in the morning! :) We are excited to play in the snow tomorrow. Our boots and gloves are out and ready.

Health Report

I went to the neurologist about my "going out" spells. They are going to run several different tests over the next couple of weeks. The neurologist seems to think I am having some kind of seizure when this takes place. January 19th I will have to stay awake all night, then go to his office and they will do an EEG to check for seizures. In order for these tests to be the most accurate, you have to be sleep deprived. Then, I have to make a visit to the sleep doctor, to see how my brain is functioning while I sleep. Dr. Condon says that sleep and seizures go hand in hand. Also, they will do an MRI to see if anything has changed since my last scan. This is quite a bit of testing, but I am so glad that I might be getting an answer to some of my health issues. I think the hardest thing right now is the waiting, and the fact that I cannot drive until all is clear. I am praying that God will keep me from having this happen while I am teaching. We are trusting God to lead the doctors to the right diagnosis. We covet your prayers during this time.

Hanging in there.....

Yay Them!! :)

All A's for you both for the second nine weeks! We are so proud of you. You have both worked so hard. We asked them what they wanted for making all A's? Nathan wants a lizard and MM wants a puppy! Ha! When they ask, they ask BIG!! :)

New Years Day and Game Day

We spent New Years Day with the Potts. Brandon grilled his first ever prime rib. I'm not even a meat person, and I must say, it was yummy! The kids played and we all watched the Gator Bowl. Mississippi State whipped some Wolverine tail. I got to ring my new cow bell ALOT! It was a good day!
