Mari Morgan's 100th day of School

MM's Kindergarden class had a 100th day celebration on Friday. I found out on thursday afternoon that they were supposed to wear 100 things. So, I took MM to Wal-Mart to pick out something to wear. She chose fuzzy little pompoms. We worked hard and finally got them glued on to stay. I went for just a short time and helped with a few centers. They really had a great time, and learned a lot too. I can't believe my baby has been in school 100 days. She LOVES it!! I am so thankful for that.

Kids can do the sweetest things!

We woke up one morning to find this on the table. Nathan and Mari Morgan fixed breakfast for us. They were so excited to come and wake us up and tell us to come to the table. So sweet, and boy were they proud of themselves! Hey, I could get used to this. :)

My breakfast toast with strawberry jelly and water to drink- they couldn't fix the coffee. To be honest, I was glad they did not try.

Brian's breakfast, toast with grape jelly and orange juice to drink(in a Mississipi State cup :) )

Thanks guys! We love you!

Reflection Time

It has been a very rushed week, and I have felt somewhat overwhelmed with LIFE! Nathan and MM activities, Nathan homework, work, and all the stuff every mom has to do. Not to mention, I have been dealing with some type of bacterial infection in my intestines that will not go away. The doctors are running some test to find the source and treat it. But, in the middle of all of this, last night Brian and I found time to sit down after kids went to bed to have a heart to heart. We each took a piece of paper and listed some things we thought needed to be reevaluated in our relationship. I will not go into detail, but on my list was "love language". We went to a retreat a while back where we took a love language test and discovered we were not "speaking" each others' language. We both admitted last night that we had not done very well in this area. My love language is service, and words of affirmation. In my quiet time this morning, I was reading in Galatians chapter 6. This is the verse that spoke to me. "Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." His word tells me to keep on going and keep on doing whether or not I get help or thanked for it along the way. It is all for Him anyway.

On a different note, today is the 100th day of school. Mari Morgan's class is celebrating all day! I plan to go and help at some point. Can't wait to post some pics. We created a 100th day outfit for her to wear last night, including 100 little pompoms on her shirt and blue jeans. She was sooooo excited!

Trip to NC!

We had such a great time on our quick trip to Raleigh/Durham. It was so good to see our friends. We ate, shopped, and just "caught up". It was neat to see their children, and they are all growing so fast. You always have those friends in your life that are extra special. Well, I will say Elisa and Kimberly are just that to me. They were the friends that were at the hospital with me, for the 7 weeks that I was there, praying for me, and helping my family through that hard time. They also took care of me for a long time after I returned home, and I will forever be grateful. We have definitely shared some of the worst and best times together. Thanks to both the Hutchinson's and the Winn's for making this trip such a special one. We love you all!!

Beach Trip Gone Bad?

After Christmas, we headed to Captiva, Florida looking forward to some nice warm weather and fun in the sun! On the way down, a cold front came through, and we woke up to a high of 58 degrees and very windy weather. This day was the warmest of the 5 days we were there. So, we headed to the beach with fleeces and ear warmers. It was pretty funny. The kids managed to adjust pretty well, but not me. I was freezing! Although we did not get to enjoy the beach very much or get a tan, it was still a fun and relaxing time. We played games, shopped, and slept ALOT. Thanks Pop and JoJo for taking us.
