Journey continues

Over the past month, I have been praying continually about where God wants me to be with teaching. This has consumed both my thought life and prayer life. It has been mentally and emotionally draining, but in a good way. I have experienced God moving in my heart and directing me to where I am supposed to be. I was once very excited about SBEC, and at one time teaching at Veritas. But, through many circumstances and people, God started changing my heart again. God showed me where I am gifted, and where I need to use that gift. I believe God has gifted me in teaching students with many different backgrounds and learning styles. It is not my desire to teach in a classroom where everyone is on the same level. I love the challenge of accommodation!!! God directed me to Hernando Hills Elementary School through very strange ways. I called the principal there, and she asked me to come in and talk. She shared with me that there was a position to finish out the year for a teacher that is ill. We talked close to 2 hours, and I had a peace. So, I will start at HHES the Monday after Easter. It will only be a short time, but I am very excited to go in and help out. Hopefully this will open up a job for me next fall, but I am only concentrating on "the now", and doing a good job. Those kids need me. I thank God for this opportunity, and believe He is in this!! Proverbs 3:5-6

Finally...A flower garden

For a long time, I have been wanting a small flower garden. I love to have fresh flowers on my table. So, this summer hopefully I can pick some from my own little garden. I do not have a whole lot of luck with this sort of thing, but I am going to give it a try. These flowers came from my mother-in-law, who has an immaculate yard. We had fun planting them. Mari Morgan was the most excited of all. She was a good helper. Hope they will make it.

I ran outside with the camera and the video below is what I saw. We are so proud of her. Go Mari Morgan!!! Woo hoo!!!! First, Kindergarten, turning 6, now riding a bike with no training wheels. Counting down the days!

Tuesday, March 16, is Mari Morgan's 6th birthday. I cannot believe my baby is turning six years old. When we first moved to Hernando, she was 3 months old. It seems like yesterday!! She is soaring through Kindergarten, almost reading on her own, and loves her teachers and friends. She is such a joy in our life. She is sweet, tenderhearted, and obedient. She has been counting down the weeks and now days until her birthday. We went and shopped for decorations today. We needed a Treasure Box for a game that we are going to play, and decided just to make our own. She picked out the decor, and designed it herself. It turned out really cute.

Sleepy heads!

We just recently put a queen bed in our upstairs bedroom. Nathan and Mari Morgan both have their own room , but since we put this bed up they have been wanting to sleep together. For the first few weeks we let them sleep in this room together on Friday nights. Well, Monday night they begged us to let them sleep together. We told them that as long as they follow the rules they can. The rules are once lights are out there is no talking just sleeping. I must say they are doing very well. My oldest, Nathan, is VERY happy about this since he is scared every night when we put him to bed. He is secure when someone is in the room with him, even if it is Mari Morgan. Mari Morgan, on the other hand, wants lights out and door closed. I couldn't resist taking this picture. One day they will love hearing and seeing this. Sweet dreams!!

Upward 2010

Tonight was our last Upwards basketball game this year. Nathan scored 6 points and played very good defense. Mari Morgan's game was Monday night. She can't quite get it to the goal yet, but has surprised me with what she has learned. They both love it and plan to play again next season. Brian coaches Nathan's team and enjoys it. I am a proud parent, and think they both did so well. But, it will be nice to have our Saturdays back. Here are some pictures throughout the year.

Journey continued...

I had the chance to talk with a few principals today. The 2 that I was most excited about were Pleasant Hill and SBEC. It was nice to finally meet Mrs. Loper. I have heard awesome things about her and the school. The conversation went well, and of course she says they just don't know anything right now. While at SBEC, I was able to go and visit Michelle Keltner and her Kindergarten class. It was great to visit with her and meet her co-workers. But, I was quick to tell them that I had no desire to teach on their hallway. Ha! Mr. Fox was gracious enough to call me into his office to talk. It was a very positive conversation, with him sharing that he really did not know anything yet, either. But he did want me to call back in a few weeks. We both shared how God answers those who call on Him. I have such a peace that God is so in control. I know that if I just seek Him, He will show me where He wants me. So, what is my job right now? Pray and stay in the Word.

Starting the journey

Today I am going to 6 different schools to meet the principals, and hand deliver my resume to them. On the list; Hernando Hills, Pleasant Hill, Lewisburg, Oak Grove, Southaven Intermediate, and SBEC. Next week, I plan to visit Dundee Elementary, Lake Cormorant, and some Olive Branch schools. About to have a prayer time, and then I am off to start this journey. I am really excited to see where the Lord places me. I am Believing Him!
