Disney on Ice

I placed my name in a box for a drawing to win 2 free tickets to Disney on Ice at my dentist office.  Later that week, I received a call that I had won them.  We were so excited.  Not only did I get tickets, but they were in Hernando Dental clinic's club box seats.  I asked Rebecca if she and Kathryn wanted to go with us.  They did.  It sooooo  good.  We really had a great time, and I was super glad Rebecca knew her way around downtown Memphis.  :)

Round 2

Mari Morgan has been begging to have her ears pierced again.  We tried it once the before, and they got infected and we had to let them grow up.   We deeded to try it again using 14K posts.  So far, they have been great.  Here are some before and after pictures.  She was so excited.

Check out this pose--prissy girl

They haven't even touched her yet  LOL

 It's over!  She did great!

Hopefully this will be the last time

REbels??

Brian's dad got tickets to the Ole Miss football game and Mari Morgan and Nathan went with him.  I could have gone too, but I opted out :)!!  Mari Morgan wanted to wear something to support the team, so she wore this dress.   She asked me to tie this red and blue bow into her hair.  I wasn't too excited about it, but I tied it in.  She said the Rebels were her 3rd favorite team, which is why she is holding up 3 fingers....  MSU being number 1.  Oh yeh!  I think they had a good time.  Glad she had the experience to go.

So, How am I doing??

As many of you know, we have started a new journey in our life!!  Staying home teaching is a totally different lifestyle.  It is nice to be able to stay in our p.j.'s on Mondays and Fridays for school.  On those days, I only have Nathan and Mari Morgan  You would think I would be able to do things around the house while they are working.  But, with my kids that is hardly the case.  Nathan really has trouble staying on task.  We are working on it.  Most of my time is spent keeping him working.  His assignment sheet is very long, but very god stuff!   MM is very independent, and does most of her work on her own.  However, right now her work is mostly review, so I am sure she will require more attention in the near future.  I do love being with them, and teaching them, but it just doesn't feel natural yet....  We still need to get into a groove.

My classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are going pretty well.  For the most part, they are well behaved, but I have a lot of" bosses, jokers, and talkers.  :)  They are just kids!  I have to remind myself of that.  I am still striving to get out of "school mode".  I am so used to teaching and cramming for a test.  With this program, there is so much more freedom.  I feel like I really can give each student an individualized experience.  Very supportive parents is also a HUGE plus.  I love that I have no deadlines, or teacher observations. :)  My struggle right now is I am trying to find a balance between what they do at home, and what they do here at school.  We are getting there, and my parents are really giving me lots of encouragement.   I am so thankful to God for giving me this opportunity.  It is difficult, but it is getting easier each week! ;)

Last night, we had a girls night  to celebrate Robbie's and Monica's birthdays.  We went to  Carrabbas's  Italian Grill which is one of my favorites!  We had an awesome time, and it was great to meet Angie, Robbie's good friend, and to have Rebecca come and eat with us too.  We sat outside because it felt great, and stayed from about 7:00-11:00.  We talked and laughed, and had some pretty "deep" conversations too.  :)  Thanks to our hubbies for staying with our kiddos.  Robbie and Monica, Happy Birthday!  I am thankful for your friendship!

Friends and Fun

As school has started, time with friends is hard to come by!

Mari Morgan was excited to spend some time with her besty,  Karis, and of course, sweet Lucy!  Lemond's, we miss you!

Silly girls

Yesterday,  MM had Harper and Emma Kate over.  They have gone to school together over the past couple of years.  Since MM is home schooled now, time with these school friends is very special. They all have ice cream mustaches. :)

Thankful for sweet friends!

Family

Go Dawgs!!

Mari Morgan experienced her first MSU football game last weekend.  My brother and his kids, Banks and Edie,  also went.  We rode the shuttle bus from downtown Starkville to the stadium,  hung out at my family's tent,  and then headed up to our seat----which was on the very last row at the tip top of the stadium.  We had a great time, and I enjoyed spending time with my brother.  Mari Morgan LOVED it!  She's my little Bulldog!
